How to Use AutoCAD for FREE as Student

Are you a student and still think that you don’t have the opportunity to learn about AutoCAD because it’s just way too expensive for a student to afford?

Worry no more! It’s 2020, and there’s always a solution for everything, especially for learning!

In this article, i’ll show you step-by-step guide how to get AutoCAD Student Version for FREE. But before we get started, please don’t exploit this offer for commercial use, if you already have a job and made enough money, please consider to support AutoCAD by buying it’s persona license.

  1. Go to https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/featured, and select which AutoDesk software you want to have as a Student Version. Since this tutorial was made for AutoCAD, select AutoCAD.
  2. After you’ve selected AutoCAD, this web-view will display, select Create Account if you still don’t have any student account, but if you already have (please make sure it’s student account), you may directly click on Sign In.
  3. You can skip this step if you already have an student account. Fill the registration form as usual, and verify your e-mail afterward. Please make sure that you chose your Educational Role as Student and chose proper Institution Type (in this tutorial, I made an account for my friend as a university’s student).
  4. Go back to https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/featured, and select again your previously selected software. If it ask you to sign-in again, sign-in your account you’ve just created. This message will be shown before we able to download the software. Now, click the Complete Profile button.
  5. Fill the form properly. Please make sure you fill Enroll and Graduation Date correctly, because as far as I know, your software/Serial-Number only usable before your graduation date. For iname of institution, I don’t know will this tutorial work if your university name aren’t available in the list, if you’ve tried, please let me know in the comment section.
  6. After your complete your profile, the web will redirect your back to our last download page, but if it’s not, just go back to https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/featured, and select again your software. And now you’ll able to choose which version do you want to use. Then, click on Install Now button.
  7. This License and Services Agreement will shown-up, read the agreement (if you have the time), select I Accept and lastly, click on Install button.
  8. Voilà! Now the AutoDesk downloader have been downloaded, and follow the further installation instruction just like any other software installation procedure.
  9. If you want to know what is your Serial-Number key (sometimes the app ask you to fill it manually after you installed it), you can check your serial-number key by clicking on your profile and then select Manager products & downloads.
  10. It will redirect you to our AudoDESK account page, and select All Products and Services, select the software you wish to see the Serial-Number, and then serial-number key will show.

That’s it! Simple isn’t it? You don’t have to wait for any confirmation or go through a complicated procedures. PS: For AutoCAD 2020 or newer, any drawing produced by the student version software will have a “Student Version” watermark on it, if you want to erase it, please consider to buy the full-version.
